FAQ

Here are some common questions that might be helpful as you get ready for your appointment. We can't wait to meet you!

How to book?

Appointments may be requested by filling out the appointment form Appointment/Contact Us

When to book?

The recommended ordering time (from your wedding date) is 8-10 months; this ideal timeframe includes the production time for your dress to be made and then shipped to Canada, as well as a buffer for fitting appointments.

It’s a rush! :  An additional cost (a “rush fee”) can apply to bridal dresses, by the designer company, if an order doesn’t meet the minimum required order time.  This fee will vary, and depends on the designer’s production schedule and approval of the order.  You will be notified by your consultant if this is something that applies to your order based on your wedding date.  Please note:  rush orders are not available for all brands.

How much time do I get?

All appointments are 1 hour long for bridal and maids. Every attempt will be made to accommodate any requests for longer appointment times. This is based on the availability the store has on your requested day.

How many people can come with me?

Due to the intimate nature of our change rooms we encourage you to limit the number of people that accompany you on your appointments – selecting your dream gown is a crucial time to focus and ascertain your needs, we recommend up to three guests in addition to yourself.

Initial Consultation…What happens?

This is the time to share any inspirational images and research to help select the dresses you wish to try on!  To best communicate & determine your goals and overall vision for your perfect gown purchase, your bridal consultant will create a personal profile to log style preferences, special requests and pertinent personal information.

What’s involved in ordering my wedding dress? I found “the dress”, now what?

In preparation for placing your order once your dress is selected, your consultant will take your measurements to determine what size you will need.  You and your consultant will discuss and agree on the size of your dress before it is ordered for you.

All dresses are ordered by size, and are not made to measurements; you should anticipate some alterations to perfect the fit and length of your dress to your body.

How do I purchase my wedding dress?

Once your dress is chosen your consultant will advise on the deposit required.  The balance will be due once the ordered dress arrives in store.  All deposits and purchases are final.  No returns or exchanges.  Alterations are not included in the price of dresses, this fee is extra.

What methods of payment are available?

We accept MasterCard, Visa, Debit, cash, and cheques.

What happens when my dress arrives?

White will contact you and confirm a date and time for your first try-on appointment upon arrival of your dress.

Do I need to bring anything to my first “try-on” appointment?

You just need to bring yourself!  White provides a selection of sample shoes and accessory options in each dressing room. Part of your first appointment is to determine any shoe/heel height preferences, foundation garments, and additional accessories you may wish to explore!  A seamstress is not present for your first appointment.  (If you already have your shoes and accessories purchased or selected, please feel free to bring them.)

How many people may I bring with me to my appointments?

The same is said for all appointments. Limiting the number of guests allows us to get through your allotted time and focus on you and what you need to feel your best in your dress.

Do you provide alterations?

We do!  Although you are not obligated to have your bridal alterations done in store, we do offer a team of seasoned professionals to help our clients with their alteration needs.  You can schedule fitting appointments once you finish your initial try on appointment.

How long do alterations take?

The fitting process can be 3 or more appointments, depending on the modifications each dress will require, and any special requests you may have.

How much do alterations cost?

This cost is based on the amount of work involved for your dress and individual needs and processes.  The alteration invoice is settled in the final fitting appointment.

How is my wedding dress packed for pick up?

Every detail is looked after in the packaging process.  We will ensure that your gown, and any other accompanying items, are perfectly pressed and packed for your pick up.

Can my dress be shipped to me?

Yes.  White can arrange shipping across Canada & Internationally if needed.  Please inquire at time of purchase on applicable shipping methods & fees.
